2019 New Year’s Resolutions

As a founder, I occasionally get asked “important” and “strategic” questions like: Does Jumpstart as a company have resolutions for the New Year?

Well, in fact, this year I did set two resolutions for the company. The constant uncertainty of a startup is not always easy, and these resolutions represent some of the ways we cope and thrive.

1. Asking for more help

We resolve to find more ways for our supporters to help us on the Jumpstart journey.

This means being brutally honest about what we can realistically do with limited resources, and assessing each situation without wearing rose-colored glasses.

It also means realizing the tremendous value of a great network, and engaging with them more.

2. More attention, fewer distractions

We resolve to focus on only one or two major initiatives at a time, not letting ourselves get pulled in too many directions at once.

It means giving ourselves the time and space to give each project, so that for each one we can say with full conviction that we gave it our best shot. Avoiding the temptation of loading up our proverbial plate. Being willing to say “not now.”  Figuring out how time can be our friend.

There’s already enough FOMO in this world, we don’t need to add to it!

Here’s to a New Year full of thriving resilience!
